Author Topic: Help with modding an old steel mac case - I want a window!!  (Read 523 times)

I have some old macs.  Mac clones actually - they were made by radius.  Anyways, Im in the process of building my own PC and modding it.  But I was too wimpy at the time to do the window my self.  So I thought I could do the window on the mac my self.  Well I almost ruined my friends metal saw blade and drill bit.  The radius box was built like a tank.  It was 1/16" solid steel.

Any ideas?

Jig saw?

with 1/16" steel, I would expect to use a couple of blades on a decent-sized window, but u might get lucky and only use 1.
I wouldn't bother with a dremel (you could buy a new computer with what u spend on the cutting wheels for this project), and I don't like the quality of a nibbler's cut.
