Ipaq 3835ppc for ibm thinkpad 600 good deal?
« on: May 26, 2003, 07:47:00 PM »

I want to trade my pocket pc for a notebook but the best deal I have worked out is an ibm thinkpad 266mhz 32mb ram 4gb hdd 2.5mb video card ... I can upgrade the ram to 128 as I have some sodimms laying around but I'm worried I will regret this later. Can I upgrade the cpu to 400mhz? I can't seem to find the cpus anywhere **** had a 366mhz tp cpu but that was spendy and not fast enough. My main concearn is the shat integrated graphics, I'd like to do some gaming. If anyone has a better deal for me please send me a tell, I have some cash I could throw into the hat also. I love my ppc but I need a notebook for school

no you cant upgrade the cpu im rebuilding a 770 and the higer cpus have a different socket i thin that its called MMCII or something like that but nope not upgradeable unless you switch motherboards i got a 300mhz processor for my laptop and i needed to change the Dc Dc card for it to work correctly. as for the graphics you should have 2mb ram onboard for video you can switch to a 4mb out of a 770x or 770e but its still not good enough for the serious games out now i play diablo 1 on it fine but i jsut use mine to type on at school and to eventually program my efi for my car.
