wouldn't you need to make the laser able to be seen? i thought all you could see from a laser pointer was the point...

yes, there are laser pointers that only show a dot, but there are some that have a beam also. like the green laser pointer on www.thinkgeek.com

the ones that show a beam tend to be more expensive and much stronger

wow! you just gave me an awesome idea. there has to be some way to show the actual path of the laser if you shine it through the edges of plexiglass. if so, you could make such an awesome design by using mirrors to reflect the beam of light. you would have to angle the mirrors just right but i'm sure it could work.

if Im not mistaken. Firing a white light into a prism makes a multitude of colors. I wonder what a laser would look like in a prism?

if you're shining it acctually through plexi glass you should be able to see it shouldn't you?  hm... smoking computer good :-?  :-? that's a change

 lol thats the first time i've ever seen anyone use the colour feature.

anyway, nematoad is right, laser light is unaffected because it is all in the one part of the spectrum anyway (ie red or green) so it doesn't rainbowise (forgot the word :P ).

also, most fog machines do it with dry ice, so running it through a computer is possible, although your fans would have a slightly heavier drag load on them...  i',m pretty sure that dry ice dosen't conduct so you're safe there...  please correct me if i'm wrong on th econduction bit
