What's wrong with taking a picture of a Dremel and implementing that into your background?  So are you people saying you can't take a nice Lian Li case and put that into our background?  Take a look at the GideonTech banner for example.  It has a picture of a case, heatsink, and power supply.  I highly doubt the creator took their own pics of those.  I'm sure he/she found those in the net, then merged all of them to create that banner.  I don't think that's considered copyright infringement.

Plus, I'm sure the Dremel company doesn't mind.  It's like free advertisement.  Now if you take a background from DigitalBlasphemy and put Gideontech on it, that's another story.  I personally don't think MaverikV did anything wrong.  Some people are just lame and don't have anything else to complain about.

You are dead wrong that photograph of the dremel is copyrighted.  All art is copyrighted the instant that it is created.  you are voilating US copyright laws, and the owner is fully with his legal right to sue you for damages or unpayed royalties for using it.  Weather they will or not is another story all together but yes downloading an image off the internet and using it in your own work is copyright infringment.

AzNPrideBoy - all the pics in the banner where made by "employees" of gideontech.com therefor we are in our legal right to use them since they belong to us.

i post rules again for your cogitation

All images submitted must be completely original works of art and the individual submitting the image must be the sole copyright owner of the said work. Basically, this means that you cannot take an image or background off of the web, apply a Photoshop filter, add some text, and submit it. That’s copyright infringement, and its illegal.

an ORIGINAL work of art.... original does not mean d/l a pic from the net and change it....  thats whats wrong with it...

am i picking on u maverick  dam right just cuz u think you are so damn right....  and just because somebody else did maverick  this means its ok for u to?

Your infringment was blatant and weak.  I don't see how a product picture ad can be considered "art"

Will you drop it already?  It doesn't have to be considered art to fall under copyright laws, are you trying to say that the picture isn't copyrighted?  Anyway, I suggest that you just drop this whole thing, you are beating a dead horse and you are on the loosing side.
