I am getting one of those wacky alienware type cases and was thinking of how to make it to where the feet glow. The affect I am wanting is sorta like a ground effect on a car, with ligt comming from the bottom. If I can either replace the feet with something to make them glow, or even if I have to leave the stock feet and attack glow wire underneath the case, I really want to do it, just want it to look clean. Any ideas or comments would help.

the easiest one is to attach 2* CCLF or an EL to the bottom of your case. A bit harder is to drill holes in the feet and insert Ultra bright leds in them. But what i would do is to get a plexi cut 3/4 size of the case's bottom and then mount around 4-8 leds around it, this will give you a very smoth glow from underneath the case, damn it sound so good i might actually do it myself....
let me know what u'll do.

Do you want it to glow just under the feet? Or under the whole case?
If you want to do the whole bottom of the case I can see a couple of ways;
Botom of the case:
1) Get a cold cathod (with acryllic tube) and cut a slit in the bottom of the case slightly smaller than the tube so it fits through but wont fall through, secure it some how. 2) Line the bottom of your case with EL wire, should be able to get a very small descrete hole in the bottom of your case
Feet: I doubt your are going to get much light from the feet seeing as the only opening would be well, on the ground where the feet open.
1) cut small slits in the feet and put an led or two in through the bottom of the case and feet 2) cut little designs and put leds in them 3)line the feet with EL Wire

Try using light tape from www.highspeedpc.com. It works very well. Only problem is that with the 2nd revision of the light tape you cant cut and splice so you may need 2 of them. However if you can find a 1st revision, i believe you can cut the tape and use wire to seperate it. Also there was a case build of a blue noblesse at http://www.modthebox.com/noblesse.html that shows the use of this. Good luck with the modding.

That looks cool. I don't remember the post, but there was a link on here to a Macro Black case, that had light up feet, blue I believe. That is sort what I want to do, but have groud effect like the pic above would be awesome as well.

the macro black case was made out of plexy, so originally everything was "glowable". Whe they painted the glass or tinted (whatever they did) they left the feet alone so that they would glow. So if you want to make plexy feet I guess that could work, but the Antec case is awfully big for just little feet like the Macro Black.

How do you attach 4-8 LEDs together? I have seen the guides on it but am afraid to try it.

I'd get some EL cable and wrap/mount it around the bottom of the case. Thats what they did in macro black (just wrapped around the feet. I think I cold cathode would probably be a bit to bright to look good sitting under the case.

As for the glowing case bottom, I might try that with my case. I have some EL tape which I won in a previous giveaway and I haven't used it since.

casemodgod.com has a guide on how to use led to underlight. http://www.casemodgod.com/undercaselgt.htm I saw another that uses a ccfl, which probably makes more sense because it would give you more even lighting underneath.
