yeah, im looking at a 7m-gte, the turbo engine from an 87-92 supra for those of you who dont care to figure out toyotas numbering system.
230 horsepower drops right onto the stock engine mounts and bolts up to a transmission that will survive the experience.

im definitely considering it, but i think ill just get it running nice first, a practice rebuild on the stock engine would be good practice, unless i can get a dirt cheap rebuild done.

and as for selling it Tongue why would i buy a nice small japanese sports car that i can insure for the same as i pay on my truck, then sell it and buy some big overweight american car that will suck gas back like a f**king supertanker and end up costing me 5X for insurance???
lol, besides, 230 horsepower in a 2600 pound car with limited slip diff and tons of traction will absolutely destroy a 350 horse big block in a 3500 pound car.

ah, i could go on and on with the rant, but lets just put it this way... my dad is hardcore old skool v8 fanatic, and i convinced him that this is a cool car, so if i can do that, im sure i could convince you too, if i cared to.

thanks yuca, i think you made my mind up, 7m-gte for me, just like this car...

hehe...=)

the 7m-gte is a reaaaaaallllllyyyyyy nice engine.  Very stong, and they hold a nice amount of boost and torture.  because they bolt right in, it will be cake.  the hardest thing will be computer and wiring harness.  try to find out if you can use the same harness.  that will save lots of time.

as for the engine you have now.  it all depends on how the internals are.  if its in decent shape, you can rebuild it, do a slight port and polish while its all open, and if you still want some more power, it will hold juice perfectly as far as i know.  If you rebuild it like you say, it should hold bout 75-100hp shot easily.

Just looked through that link.  hes got some really good info.  try contacting him if anything.  he used an aftermarket ECU.  they are usually expensive.  You dont have to go that route...

Good luck no matter what, and congrats.  whatever you do, its gonna be a SWEET ride.
