The only thing that's stock is the frame(duh) and the fork(going to be replaced by RST F1RST Air).

Very nice bike.  How'd you do in the race? 

I wish I could get myself in to something like that.  I started getting in to biking and rock climbing a little last summer but then the fall semester hit.  I may try again in May, we'll see.

I'm assuming you don't do heavy MTBing or DH with this? Not exactly sure how a Gary Fischer is still in perfect condition if you use it for it's purpose. Unless these pictures are of when you first built the bike?

I do see a few scratches here and there. I'd suggest a chain slap pad to protect that paint. I made my own with industrial strength adhesive velcro (fuzzy side).

It could have been a lot better, 60Km XC race on a very hot(over 30C at 10am), shinny and humid day, breathing was quite hard.

This bike isn't for DH, it's for XC.

Yeap, I just have a couple of chain slap scratches, but with the new der(it had an Altus before the X9) I think I won't have any problems.
It's hard to see it, but on the top half of it, it has like a clear film that protects the paint from scratching.
Those nasty scratches are from my old 7 speed chain, when it got stiff and then stuck(two times in that race) after going through mud.
I finished that race with mud up to my knees.

General question for all: are chains supposed to be that clean? If so, I think I need to clean mine >_<

I replaced the fork for an RST F1RST Air Platinum and now the ride is softer, I love it.

Total weight now is 12KG.

Yes, the chain, cassette and chainring have to be clean.
So clean that you have to wash it, dry it, and lube each chain's link, drop by drop(if you don't mind spending some time and saving lube )
Then you have to take out the excess of lube with a rag or kitchen paper.

What happened to your chain stay? chain fell of and jammed?

The original bike had a 7 speed chain, it was quite thick, that's how I scratched it. Now that I have a 9 speed chain, this has never happened again, even if the chain drops.

Last time that it got stuck was on my last race(the one of the pic), the bike was full of mud and my legs up to my knees.
