Review: Eagle Consus D-Series

Quote
On the review block for today is the Consus D-Series dual SATA hard drive external storage system from Eagle Tech. The D-Series has the ablity to use JBOD (Just a Bunch Of Disks) spanning to combine your odd sized disk drives into one larger drive, or you can run it plain old RAID 0.

On another note, Eagle Tech has kindly offered to sponsor the giveaway of THREE (3) Consus D-Series units!

Simply reply here once per day until 7/31/2008 and you are entered for the drawing. Remember, we check IPs so let's not register more than once.

To get things really going, there is now a new referral link added to everyone's profile. Just copy the link and send it to someone to refer them to GTF. You can view who you have referred in your own profile page. You can also see the Top 5 referrers in the stats page. So what do you get for referring? The Top 5 referrers get an extra entry into the drawing at the end of the month for every referral they make until then. It just makes it that much easier for you to win Wink

Sure I'll play.  We do anything special this time around like last time with the backgrounds?  Or am I to just keep posting things on a daily basis?

When I read it wasn't RAID 1 I was kind of Sad, but the array I want to back up is 4 500GB drives in RAID 5 which formatted comes out to 1.36TB.  I just want to be able to back it up every once and a while, disconnect the drive, and store it somewhere.  RAID 5 is safe enough for my storage, but since the PC is on the net and acts as a server I
have to fear that someone may be able to hack it some day.

Oh, and this is post #2 for me, it even comes with a new IP address. Smile
