Do you control it turning? Or is it just doing that by itself?

Ronin: I am using RC servos for the movement.

Error: Right now it is turning on its own .. Once I add the controler board (I have that already), I will start working on getting all the joints moving indenpently or together. Right now I am using a servo driver to get things setup.

REK636: Oh its going to be a little more than a little tweaking that needs to be done.

over the next few weeks I will get some more done but it will talk a while.

Base (the lexin round piece)  is about 12" and the legs are about 8-10" right now incuding the joint piece.

Getting everyone here caught up with what has been said about this project on other forums..

1st: link to my site that has all of the information up to the Teaser video;
http://www.malatorymods.com/spider_v2_1.htm

CCB has been getting me help with some of the vector math that I am having trouble remimbering how to do (hey I havn't touched that stuff in years). Basic run down is that I have servos that are rated at 133/in of torque at the servo. I am lifting ~8 of alum streight out from the base of the servo. guess ament is that I am going to have 93oz/in or 72/oz/in of torque for lifting the body X6 (or 8 if I get all eight legs working). Computer with out the body wieghts close to 5lb so I am fine so far.

Head of the spider will hold at least 2 batteries and maybe a Bluetooth  modem for controlling the legs.

body will hold the computer and any batteries that it needs to run off of when it trying to take over the world. (What it is made out of is still up in the air .. something light maybe Fiberglass (other options would be Plastic but weight is an issue, and Carbon fiber (still want to play with it more).

over all color will be black when I can use it. Silver /alum when I can't.

Ok I ordered more parts for this last night. Now I have to wait for a week and then I can start playing with them..

current rate for me being able to get things are slow .. with the pieces I ordered last night I still need more for building the legs.

what I will need to get beyound the order are
6 more servos (3 per leg) (Take about 1 month to get the cash for these)
Hub pieces for attaching the knee joint to the alum rod (bone piece). should be able to get this weekend.

so aprox 6-8 weeks to be able to get 2 legs build.
