Review: mobiBLU DAH-1500i 1GB MP3 player

Quote
So why do I have an MP3 player now?  I’ve been going to the gym lately and the in-house music is usually playing pop or hip-hop.  At first I wanted to get a cheapo radio just to get by.  But YucA from the forums directed me to a site showing the mobiBLU DAH-1500i.  It’s a very small MP3 player in a cube casing.  It measures about an inch on all sides, making it really small compared to players during that time.  I like very small things, especially if they are functional.  I’ve always been fascinated with miniatures that work how they should.  I saw a small vice grip before, probably about 4 inches long and I wanted one just because it was smaller than usual.  Anyway, the DAH-1500i, despite its size, can hold a max of 1GB.  By then I thought this would be the MP3 player I would finally get myself.

Awesome product, but I would so lose it within a week of owning it.

<-- not really organized. It takes me about 20 minutes in the morning just to gather my stuff for school as I never know where i left my stuff. And it's always all within my room Tongue

The headphone jack is full size, you should have no issues.

Yes I don't.  I only have the stock Honda radio, but I do have the cassette deck.

I currently have it playing on my car using one of those tape adapters and it's pretty nice sounding.  I guess it's better than getting a HU that can read CD's with MP3's, as I can have more than 600MB's worth of songs.

One con on the review that I forgot to add, since the headphone socket acts as both the headphone socket and the USB data/charger port, you can only do one at a time.  meaning, you can't listen while charging.  It would be great to charge the thing while it's plugged in the car.  I was thinking of maybe making an adapter wherein you can plug in both the headphones and the data cable/charger.  But when you plug the USB cable in, it reverts to USB transfer/charging mode.  I guess the headphone port's leads changes with the different cables.  Not sure.

Advance apology for being "wordy."  I recently bought a DAH-1500i 2 GB, from Target.  It is my first mp3 player, but is not intended to be my primary one. I have enjoyed it, so far, but there are some difficulties.

I used it to record a convention, through the low-frequency radio station inside the arena. It was difficult to get good reception, but my main problem is that battery life is only 2-3 hours while recording from fm.  I need to be able to record 6-8 hours.

I have been searching the internet 3 weeks for recommendations, with no success. I went to Radio Shack for advice today, but they've never even heard of mobiblu (no one at any store I've been to for inquiries has, although I've been seeing it for well over a year). I have hoped that I could use a AA battery extender with some sort of splitter that would allow me to charge the thing while listening through the earbuds to verify that I'm not recording static! Since no one has heard of it, no one can tell me if this will work.  Any (not too technical) ideas will be appreciated.  Thanks, guys!
