Question About Shuttle MV19 Motherboard (COMPLETE!)

I've stopped using this board and moved on to another a few months ago because of a
booting problem.  It seems as though no matter what O/S I install, the system would just
reboot itself randomly.  I have come to the conclusion that there is a physical problem:



If you notice, the capacitor in the middle is slanted while the other's are straight up.  I
couldn't get a clean shot of it, but there is some weird orange stuff coming out of the
bottom of the slanted one.  It seems that it cracked open on the bottom some how,
and you can actually bend it over and see the gunk.  (It's like dust really)  I am wanting
to know that if I replace and re-solder a new capacitor in its place (the same voltage, same uF)
would that fix it?  I've already checked everything else and so far that is the only problem
I have seen/found.

I recall reading about someone who had a few blown caps on his mobo which he tried to replace.  I believe he was actually successful.  Lemme try and find it.

I went all out and measured the capacitor just now.  It matches perfectly to this one found
on Digikey!  -=LINK=-

Look for:   6.3 | 2700 | 10 | 30   on the chart and that's the one I need.

Now the only problem is...I don't have a way to buy it online just yet.

Although those caps look fine, I fear they're dead, or in their way to their final day.
You should better replace ALL the caps of the same kind.

I went ahead and used my multimeter to check for continuity and all of those big
ones "beeped" except for that slanted one.  So, I guess that's the only bad one.
I also used the capacitor option on my multimeter, but nothing came up.  Do I
have to have power running through them before I get a reading?

You cannot check for continuity in a capacitor.
When you do that, you'll be feeding the capacitor through your multitester, you'll be charging up the cap.
Try it, leave the multitester for a lil bit, you'll hear a beep, and after some seconds it will stop beeping, inverse the multitester leads and you'll get a beep, but it will go away after some seconds.

Remember that the capacitor is in a circuit, to really test things, they cannot be a part of a circuit, you never know how that circuit was designed, or if there's any other faulty part.

Sooner or later you'll have to replace them all.
Remember that what really matters is inside the capacitor, you cannot see it, don't wait to see external changes in order to replace them.

usually when restarts happen its becuase your processor is overheating and its your bios trying to protect your processor...just sayin

I know, but my cpu never gets that hot.

I put in a question to www.badcaps.com but they haven't answered yet.
My question basically was, "Should I use the same-rated caps or is there a better or equal solution?"
I guess i'm gonna have to buy some from digikey for $1.20 each.  If I want to be on the safe side
I guess I should go ahead and replace them all.  There's seven of these big caps so 7 x $1.20 = $8.40.
It's better to save than to throw away!

I went ahead and put in an order.  Since I don't have a credit card or checking account or anything,
they let me do C.O.D!  I couldn't believe it.  I'm going to be ordering from these guys a lot!
 

I'll update everyone about this motherboard when I get these new caps.

You have to get the EXACT F, the rated V can be equal or higher, but NEVER lower.
