Guide: CVS Digital Camcorder Modding

Quote
You've probably seen it in your local CVS drugstore. Their brand new disposable digital camcorders they sell that let you film your own 20 minute movie. You drop it off at CVS and they burn the recorded video onto a DVD. Rather ingenius considering how successful their previous disposable digital camera was.

However, wasting that kind of money over and over again sure isn't too efficient. How does making one of these digital camcorders re-usable and getting the videos out of these recorders yourself sound? Yup, sounds pretty good to us and we've got the pictures and steps showing you how.

Add me to the list of success stories.  I've actually hacked a nice hole for a usb cable but I found out in the end that I didn't have an A-A usb cable Mad.  I just have a usb cable dangling from the top just so I can download the movies.

nice article dave Smile

I'd been following the camerahacking forums waiting until this thing had been cracked, and even followed their guides but yours is much more easy to follow.

Just a note to those who are interested, a usb-b connector fits fine in the side of the camcorder as well.  It's a bit more of a tight squeeze, but it works.  I'll post pics if anyone's interested.
