I am modding a computer for my girlfriend.  She is a gamer and I want to give her a computer she'll be proud to show off and take to places like LAN parties.

Mods:
- Removing Shuttle's rear fan grill and installing a new one.
- Adding a custom etched window (from thepcmodshop.com).
- Adding a VL Systems LIS-2 in the mirror.
- Painting the case black then coating it in diamond dust.
- Adding blue and pink (red) CCFL's.

The grill was simple.  Just use some tin-snips to cut out a hole and placed a new grill over it.

I am horrible with a Dremel.  This is the hole I have cut for the window.  I already have the molding cut to get rid of those sharp edges.

Xoxide sent me the wrong switch, but it actually worked out for the better.  I took off the cover and just installed the switch itself.  Looks a lot nicer than the other switch I ordered.

Ugh, this is going to be a nightmare.  So far I have cut apart the front of the case so the display fits and sanded off the mirror.  Now I need to work on fixing the scratches in the acrylic from the sand paper.

Here is a preview of case so far.

Helpful Tip
Tie up your hair when spraypainting ... @#$%&*!!!!!

I don't have anything new to show yet aside from a modified version of the drive rack.  I am moving the hard drive back about an inch to make room for the display.  I am also going to run the wires for the hard drive down the front of the computer (instead of around the back/middle of it).  Should make for better airflow.  Any opinions?

lookin good so far.  anything you do with them cables that go through the middle will help airflow.  i was going to keep on chopping my shuttle up, but bigger/better projects came up...=D

Hey Yuca.  Haven't seen you around the boards in a while.

This thread did kind of die two months ago though.  I was kind of dissapointed because I wanted to see the finished product.  Oh well...

It's not dead, I'm still working on it, I was just forced into taking a break from it, but I plan on getting it finished by Christmas.  This is actually what I needed the spacer I asked about for in the Electronics forum.
