I am going to buy a TR-SK6 heatsink but I was wondering if anyone can point me in the direction of the best and quietest fan that fits it.  My computer is in my bedroom and I am looking for someting in the sub-30 dB-A range.

you want a 60mm fan? hmm, they're not the best for quietness...cuz you may get a sub 30 dba fan, but it's cfm probably isn't appropriate for a heatsink...

i'd say get a 60 to 80 mm adapter and put a 80mm fan on it, sunon makes a nice 38cfm, 32dba fan, i think, ask brutal, he uses one Wink

yeah...that's a good idea Smile

also: while you're in the market for adapters...I saw a review for this adapter that lights up!! Big Grin but only applicable if you actually have a window on your pc, or if you just like to waste money, ORRR you often have your computer ON with the case OFF....either or all reasons are viable reasons to buy the light-up adapter...

well actually, come to think of it....why not get an alpha and just eliminate the adaptor altogether? (alpha's hold 80mm fans)

BBUUTT I must say that the SK6 looks a helluva lot easier to install....I installed an alpha on a friend's computer...it's okay...but mounting to the mobo can be a pain in the ass

here is my setup: http://members.cox.net/brutal/images/hsff.jpg

its a vantec 6605 with a 80mm-60mm adapter and a sunon 80mm 39cfm at 32 dba.  its actually more cfm than the delta(37) and a lot quieter(delta is 46.5 db/a)

I don't think the SK6 will take a fan adaptor.  Maybe I should get the CCK-6035.  I do believe that's Mushkin RAM by the way.
