I'm looking for a program that would take ~700 mp3s and sort them into 5 random groups for burning to CDs (to play in a car mp3 cd player)  I realize that I could simply burn 5 cds out of the 700 songs, but i want a random selection from the 700 on each (without repeating songs) I don't see any way of doing that except by hand (with lots of lists and things).  Does anyone know of any way to do this?

TIA /me

here's a google link to random file selectors, it may be what you need.

The problem appears to have been solved as x24 (bless him) is making a custom program for me.  If it doesnt work, expect to hear more from me!

Yep.  The program works very well.  It's great for sorting MP3s randomly into groups of preset sizes, but you need to have the space to double the file size (it copies them to new folders)

Hi.

I still have that program, which I would think still works.  I do have it on a different link since my previous post was still pointing to my old site.  Here's the new link:

I haven't touched the program in a while so let me know if you come across some problems.

Sounds like a good program
FYI, wmp11 will do a similar thing, make a cd (or portable mp3 player) sized playlist of random songs and stick em on there for you
